Welcome to The Learning House Christian Daycare, a tight-knit, Christ-centered home daycare in Elgin, IL, serving children ages 2-5.
At The Learning House Christian Daycare, we believe the early years are too important to leave to chance. Every day is intentionally designed to help children grow academically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually in a warm, Christ-centered home environment.Founded by Kiara Bobbitt, M.A., a former elementary school teacher, The Learning House was created to provide the kind of environment every parent hopes for—one where children are known, loved, challenged, and encouraged to become all God created them to be.Rather than trying to do everything, we focus on what matters most.📖 We Prioritize Early LiteracyA love for reading begins long before a child opens their first chapter book. Through daily phonics, read-alouds, rich conversations, songs, and hands-on learning, we intentionally build the foundational literacy skills children need to thrive. Research has found that children who are reading proficiently by the end of third grade are about four times more likely to graduate from high school than children who are not, which is why we believe investing in literacy from the earliest years matters.🥗 We Prioritize Healthy FoodsHealthy bodies support healthy minds. We serve wholesome meals and snacks made with quality ingredients because good nutrition fuels learning, play, growth, and the energy children need to explore God’s world with curiosity and joy.📵 We Prioritize Real ChildhoodChildren learn best by talking, creating, moving, exploring, and playing. Our youngest learners do not use screens, and screen time for older preschoolers is limited to purposeful educational activities that reinforce learning—not entertainment.✝️ We Keep Christ at the CenterJesus is at the heart of everything we do. Each morning begins with prayer, worship, and Bible time as we plant seeds of faith through Scripture, songs, and conversations about God’s love. Our prayer is that these daily moments help cultivate a lifelong devotion to Christ and a strong biblical foundation that children carry with them for years to come.
